As the son of a Belgian father and a Congolese mother, he grew up between these two cultures. In the Congo, he spent his mornings studying in French, while in the afternoons, he explored and experienced the Congolese culture.
His work is largely autobiographical. Through film and visual arts, he draws inspiration from Afro-European issues and tackles questions of identity, exploring concepts such as Afro-Europeanism, and the conflicts and tensions between black Africa and the white West.
As an artist and researcher, he is involved in the BEyond PARTicipation critical network.
